DisneyHand, worldwide outreach for The Walt Disney Company, is dedicated to making the dreams of families and children a reality through public service initiatives, community outreach and volunteerism in the areas of compassion, learning, the arts and the environment.
Through DisneyHand, The Walt Disney Company made a donation of $1 million to the American Red Cross International Response Fund for tsunami relief. On top of the corporate donation, Disney employees also contributed significantly to the fund. The donations went towards safe drinking water, healthcare, disease prevention, tents, hygiene kits, cooking utensils, mental health counseling and disaster preparedness and prevention measures.
Clay and DisneyHand came together when Disney sponsored Clay's first solo tour in the summer of 2004. A short video was shown at Clay's concerts which included information about projects in which DisneyHand was involved. Clay also performed and was a presenter during the DisneyHand Teacher Awards.
